Hey everybody... I know I haven't been as update-full these days. I have no excuse and am working on returning to my old self. With all the training, the racing, the working and the friends I don't have much time for blogging.
So anyways... it's not the first time I mumble about running out of time
Last weekend was the Grand Prix de St-Raymond. It's a 3 stage race. 2 road stages one of 104km and the other 135. In the evening of the shorter road race there is a TT of 12km. The weekend started off ok. In the first road race I rolled in to 9th position, thus keeping myself close to the leaders on the GC. But in the evening, things weren'T going so well. It was very cold and rainy outside. I found it hard to warm up properly, and the officials were running the race late. I got up to the start gate a little early, wich made me even colder. It's no excuse for not going hard enough though! I ended up 12th, only 30secs back. I know I could've done better, but my mind wasn't up to it!
The next morning, the 2nd road race started, and a break got away in the first 100m of the race. Luckily w had someone in it and didn't have to assume any work! The race regrouped about halfway, and then the speed realy picked up and the race started. The groups split in three. Break, chasers, and peloton. I was in the chasers unfortunately. I ended up 10th in the GC. It's not bad, but far from my best!
